Main Street Brings Student Organizations Together at SCSU St. Cloud State University held its Main Street event on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event stretched from Atwood Mall to Husky Plaza and brought many organizations together. Students had the chance to walk around, learn about different clubs, meet new people and find ways to get involved on campus.
One of the organizations at Main Street was the Women in Cybersecurity club. I spoke with club member Kanchan Thakur about the organization and its plans. She explained that the club is planning to organize more events and hopes to attract more students.

I also spoke with Lynn Collen, the advisor for Women in Cybersecurity. She was very kind and welcoming and shared more information about the organization. She explained more about the club’s goals and how it supports students who are interested in cybersecurity.
Kanchan Thakur also talked about a conference where students can get support to present and publish their research in Los Angeles. The club wants to help students grow academically and professionally while giving them more opportunities in the cybersecurity field.
I also visited the Information Systems Assurance Club table. I spoke with club member Anjali Suwal, who explained more about the organization and what it does to help students. The club gives students opportunities to learn more about information systems and build useful skills for their future careers.

Another stop at Main Street was the university library table. Students could learn about the resources and services available through the library. They could also choose a free book from the table.
Jessie Storlien, Metadata and Stacks Management Specialist, was at the library table. She was very friendly and welcoming and helped students learn more about the library and its resources. I also picked up a free book from the table.
Main Street was a good opportunity for students to explore campus organizations and learn more about university resources. From Atwood Mall to Husky Plaza, students were able to connect with different groups, discover new interests, and find more ways to become involved in the St. Cloud State community.
