On January 21 the Women’s Center and LGBT Center held a Vision Board & Open House at Primrose, Atwood Memorial Center. In this event they invited students to reflect on their goals and think about what they want to achieve this year. Many students may not know but these two centers merged into one department last fall. The new center continues to offer the same resources and support as before but now operates as a single space located in AMC 218. The office has been redecorated to create a welcoming and inspiring environment. The open house was designed to introduce students to the newly merged center and give them a chance to see the updated space.

The main activity was creating vision boards. Vision boards are tools that help students visualize their goals and dreams using images, words, and symbols. Students worked on their boards to explore personal, academic, and creative aspirations. They shared their ideas with each other and discussed what they hope to accomplish in the year ahead. The activity encouraged reflection and inspiration in a supportive environment where everyone could express themselves freely.

The open house also allowed students to connect with staff and learn about the resources available at the newly merged center. Events like this highlight the center’s commitment to empowering students. By combining creativity, community, and personal growth, the Women’s and LGBTQ+ Center continues to welcome and inspire all students throughout the year.
