St. Cloud State University students had the opportunity to meet employers and explore different career paths during the Business, Engineering and Technology Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The career fair was held in the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Many companies attended the event looking to connect with St. Cloud State students. Employers represented a variety of career fields, including finance, information technology, marketing, sales, and engineering. Some employers came from the Minneapolis area, while several local companies were also present.

Students came to the career fair dressed in professional attire and ready to speak with employers. Many brought copies of their resumes and moved from table to table introducing themselves to recruiters. Students had the chance to ask questions about different companies, learn about available positions, and hear more about internships and future career opportunities.

For students who are still figuring out what they want to do after graduation, the career fair was also a good opportunity to learn about careers they may not have considered before. Speaking directly with recruiters can help students understand what employers are looking for and what skills or experiences may be useful for certain positions.

The event also gave students a chance to make professional connections. Instead of only submitting an application online, students were able to have face-to-face conversations with employers and make a more personal introduction.
With employers from different industries gathered in one place, the career fair gave St. Cloud State students an opportunity to explore their options, practice networking and build connections that could help them when searching for internships or jobs in the future.
