On September 30, St. Cloud State University held its Homecoming Kickoff from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Atwood Mall. The event was open to the campus community and included food, games and several outdoor activities.

Starting at 11 a.m., students began gathering around Atwood Mall. Some stopped by between classes, while others came specifically to take part in the Homecoming activities and spend time with friends.

One of the biggest attractions was a Ferris wheel set up near Atwood Memorial Center. Students lined up for rides throughout the event and were able to see the campus from a different view. The Ferris wheel stood out across the mall and gave the event more of a festival atmosphere.

Food stations and tents were also set up around Atwood Mall. Students could grab food while walking around the event or sit nearby with friends. The food area stayed busy as more students joined the kickoff during the afternoon.

Along with the Ferris wheel and food, students were able to walk around the event area and take part in different activities. Some students took pictures, while others spent time talking with friends and enjoying the break from classes.

The sunny weather also helped create a good atmosphere for the kickoff. Clear skies made it easier for students to stay outside and enjoy the event for a longer time. For many students, the kickoff was a chance to take a break from classes, assignments and work. It also gave students an opportunity to meet others and be part of the Homecoming celebration.

The location at Atwood Mall made the event easy to access. Since many students walk through the area during the day, the kickoff became a visible part of campus life for several hours. The event continued until 3 p.m. and brought students, faculty and staff together in one place. Some people stayed for a short time, while others spent much of the afternoon enjoying the food and activities.

The September 30 kickoff marked the beginning of St. Cloud State’s Homecoming celebration and brought more energy to the center of campus. It gave the campus community a chance to come together, have fun and start Homecoming with a shared celebration. Even students who may not have planned to attend could stop by while walking through campus. The open setup made the event feel welcome and accessible to the St. Cloud State community.

Homecoming is also a time for the university community to celebrate its connection to St. Cloud State. While classes and academics remain an important part of university life, events like the kickoff show another side of the college experience.

As students moved through Atwood Mall during the afternoon, the Ferris wheel, food tents and crowds made the area look different from a normal school day. The event turned a familiar campus space into a place for celebration.

Most importantly, the event gave the campus community a reason to gather and celebrate together, setting the tone for the rest of Homecoming at St. Cloud State University.
