Everyone knows the feeling of looking through an entire playlist and still not finding the right song. For those moments, it might be time to try something new. Monday Night Live, a one-hour live set aired weekly at 9:00 pm, brings local Minnesota artists to perform all different kinds of music, and it might just be your answer. Together, St. Cloud State’s radio and television studios come together to produce the show that highlights artists across the state.

“A lot of these sets are performed by smaller artists that you might not have heard before.” said UTVS Monday Night Live producer Mya Fryckman. But just because they don’t have a large following doesn’t mean that the music isn’t worth listening to.

The semester has been flying by, and there are only a pair of shows left before the summer starts. The upcoming show on April 13th will feature Kaitlin Cassady and her indie-folk-rock-jazz sound as she blends genres together, followed by Mouthful on April 27th, which will be performing their original indie rock music. Be sure to catch them on the radio at 88.1 FM or live on UTVS, and who knows? Maybe you’ll find some tunes that catch you asking for more.

“That’s sort of the fun of it.” said associate producer Ben Koshiol, “You never know what you’re going to get.”
